Specialization
Focused Expertise
While many painting contractors offer decorative finishes as an add-on, this is my entire practice. Every project I take on involves decorative plaster, lime finishes, or historic restoration. This focus means deeper material knowledge, better problem-solving, and results that hold up to professional scrutiny.
- Venetian plaster and Italian lime finishes
- Lime wash and mineral paints
- Microcement and seamless coatings
- Historic plaster restoration and stabilization
- Ornamental mouldings and decorative elements
- Custom color development and material sourcing

Heritage
The Name
Old Head is a promontory near Louisburgh in County Mayo, Ireland — a rocky headland where the Atlantic meets ancient stone. My family has lived in its shadow for generations.
The plasterers there learned their craft in conditions that demanded durability: wet winters, salt air, structures built to outlast centuries. Nothing survived that was built to fail.
I brought those standards to Connecticut. The climate is different, but the principles are the same: proper materials, proper technique, proper time. No shortcuts, no compromises.
"In twenty years of practice, I've worked with many finish contractors. Daragh is the only one I trust with decorative plaster. His sampling process eliminates the guesswork that usually comes with these finishes, and his execution is impeccable."
