Investment
What to Expect
Decorative plaster is a permanent investment in your home — not a surface treatment you'll replace in five years. Here's how our pricing works so you can plan accordingly.
Every project is quoted individually. These ranges reflect typical Connecticut residential projects.
Typical Project Ranges
Most residential projects fall within these ranges. Your specific quote depends on the factors outlined below.
Foundation
Single-room projects with good substrate and standard ceiling heights.
Typically includes:
- Limewash on prepared drywall
- Matte Venetian on straightforward walls
- Standard color palette
Typical scope: 400–800 sq ft powder rooms, accent walls, bedrooms
Most Common
Signature
Multi-room projects, polished finishes, or moderate complexity.
Typically includes:
- Polished or satin Venetian plaster
- Marmorino finishes
- Custom color development
- Standard substrate preparation
Typical scope: 800–2,500 sq ft living areas, multiple rooms, foyers
Bespoke
Large-scale installations, complex conditions, or specialty finishes.
Typically includes:
- Microcement (floors, wet areas)
- Tadelakt (showers, baths)
- Historic restoration work
- High ceilings or difficult access
- Extensive substrate repair
Typical scope: Whole-home installations, hospitality, historic properties
What Affects Your Quote
No two projects are identical. Here's what we evaluate when preparing your proposal.
Square Footage
Larger projects benefit from economies of scale. Per-square-foot cost typically decreases as scope increases.
Substrate Condition
New construction with Level 5 drywall requires minimal prep. Older homes with textured walls, wallpaper, or damaged plaster require more preparation time.
Ceiling Height & Access
Standard 8-10' ceilings are straightforward. High ceilings, stairwells, and difficult access require scaffolding and additional time.
Finish Complexity
A matte limewash applies faster than a high-polish Venetian. Microcement and Tadelakt require specialized techniques and longer curing.
Color & Customization
Standard colors from our sample library are included. Custom color matching, multi-tone effects, or specialty pigments add cost.
Project Timing
Rush scheduling when available may incur premium. Standard 3-4 week lead time for scheduling.
How Pricing Works
Initial Consultation
We discuss your vision, timeline, and evaluate site conditions. For most residential projects, this is a brief on-site visit or detailed photo review. No charge.
Finish Selection & Sampling
You visit the Material Library or we create custom sample boards for your project. Sample boards are billed at cost ($150–400 depending on complexity) and credited toward your project if you proceed.
Detailed Proposal
Once finish and scope are confirmed, you receive a detailed proposal with fixed pricing, timeline, and terms. No hidden fees, no surprises.
Deposit & Scheduling
A 50% deposit secures your installation date. Materials are ordered, and we coordinate with your GC or schedule around your home.
Final Payment
Balance due upon completion, after walkthrough and approval. We don't consider a project complete until you're satisfied.
Honest Expectations
What We Can't Know in Advance
Some conditions only reveal themselves once work begins. This is especially true in older homes.
Renovation Projects

Hidden substrate damage
Moisture, mold, or deterioration behind paint
- —
Multiple paint layers
Some require complete removal, adding time
- —
Lead paint discovery
Pre-1978 homes may require lead-safe protocols
- —
Structural movement
Active cracks may need reinforced base systems
How We Handle It
-
Initial estimates include a substrate assessment based on visible conditions
-
We document and communicate any unexpected conditions immediately
-
Additional work is quoted separately with your approval before proceeding
-
No surprises on the final invoice — changes require written approval
